Welcome to Markhaven!

Markhaven is a publicly funded and inspected Long Term Care nursing home in Markham, recognized for the high quality of care and loving environment it provides to seniors in our community. Our 96-bed long term care facility has been serving Markham and the surrounding area for more than 50 years; from our simple beginnings in a small home on Markham Main Street to our new senior housing facility at 54 Parkway Ave, we have come along way with the help of our community, volunteers and the dedication of our staff. As is stated in our Mission Statement, we strive to provide excellent service for residents of every culture in a supportive, caring Christian environment, and to maintain a high level of dignity and individuality. With your continued support we plan to be here for you and your families for many years to come. Please refer to Resident Applications for information about admission.

National Volunteer Week:  April 23 – 29, 2017

Thank You to our Volunteers!

All of us at Markhaven Home for Seniors would like to express our deep-felt gratitude and thanks to all of our volunteers for their outstanding contribution to our Home.

Each and every day, we strive to provide excellent service and an enriching environment for our residents. We know without a doubt that we could not accomplish all that we do without our volunteers. Their friendly presence and smiling faces, energy and initiative, and their kindness and compassion brighten up each and every day and is something our residents look forward to. Every single volunteer helps to provide a fulfilling and enjoyable environment at Markhaven and truly enrich the lives of our residents.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we would like everyone to know what a difference our volunteers make and how much we appreciate their time and dedication.

So THANK YOU to our volunteers! They are an integral part of Markhaven and we are so gratelful to them for making a positive, significant impact on the daily lives of our residents.

We are very proud and grateful to announce that the Blue Energy Committee at the Hilton Toronto Markham Suites partnered with Markhaven this month to upgrade and improve our gardens and spend a lovely day in the sun with our residents!

Hilton Gardening Group

As part of the fabulous work the Hilton does for the community, the Blue Energy team came over to Markhaven on a bright sunny day, fully prepared and ready to work. They brought many flats of beautiful flowers, gardening tools and a lot of good cheer. The day was spent weeding, hoeing, arranging and planting, and visiting and chatting with our residents. Our colour theme was red and white and the end result was a gorgeous, eye-pleasing, relaxing garden area for our residents to enjoy over the coming months. Pictures of the event can be viewed here.

All of us at Markhaven would like to thank the Hilton for their thoughtfulness and support, their hard work and for making such a difference for our residents and the community. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Solar Panels at Markhaven

We are excited to announce that Markhaven has installed Solar Panels on our roof top. The panels will produce clean power to offset the electricity consumed in day-to-day operations. We would like to thank our residents and visitors for their patience and understanding during the installation phase.
